Cooling Pipes - MST - South Lyon, MI
Mine is a career of endless fascination, I learn something new almost every day. About a year ago I photographed the manufacture of seamless tubing at MST and learned that you can take a long steel bar and poke a hole down the middle to make piping that can withstand tremendous pressure. This can be useful in offshore oil drilling or high-pressure steam applications. Putting the hole in steel bars generates enough heat to make the metal red-hot, so cooling is part of the process.
